Bunnyproof shares practical, tested advice for living happily with a house rabbit: how to protect your home from chewing and digging, how to litter train, and which toys and enclosures are worth buying.
The site was founded by Tim Waters, who has kept house rabbits for over 20 years. Most of the problems covered here, from chewed cables to a peed-on sofa, are ones we have dealt with in our own home.
Every bunny is different, so we don't rely on our own experience alone. For more than 10 years, the Bunny proofing Facebook group has been a place for house rabbit owners to share their problems and the solutions that worked for them. It now has around 50,000 members, and many of the tips and photos on this site come from them. When we use a member's photo, we credit them by name.
Our guides share practical experience from rabbit owners. They are not a substitute for veterinary advice: if your bunny seems unwell or has stopped eating, contact a rabbit-savvy vet straight away.
We test the toys, enclosures and bunny-proofing products we review with our own rabbits at home, and we look at how they hold up over months, not just the first day. We also ask members of the Facebook group which products have worked for them, and which haven't.
Each product is rated for value for money, fun, mess and noise. The ratings reflect how bunnies actually used the product. No company pays us to include or rate a product.
Bunnyproof is free to read. As an Amazon Associate, Bunnyproof earns from qualifying purchases: if you buy something after clicking one of our Amazon links, we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. This helps pay for the site, but it never decides what we recommend.
Many of the guides on this site are also collected in our book, How to Bunny-proof Your Home, available on Amazon.
