1Cardboard house / castles
From 30.00
Buy it on Amazon
If you had to choose between all the chew toys here that will keep your bunny busy then a cardboard castles is the winner. Your bunny can spend hours customising it how they want by stripping ribbons of paper off it and chewing away at it to customise the entrances. The additional shelter it provides in a room will also help you bunny feel more secure and happy. Its best to avoid products with heavy print on them as eating the ink is not great and simple Cardboard house / castles are the best as your bunny will be more interested in a shape then its decoration anyway.
Our bunnies verdict
We would not be without some sort of cardboard box for our bunny to play in and have had some bunnies that have become so attached to the dens the dens they have built over time that when they eventually fall apart and we take them away have become quite upset with us, at least until a new one has arrived. You can obviously use any box that is suitable however we prefer these as we don't have to muck about removing tape or worrying about where they have been stored and they obvious look a lot better. Lastly its worth noting that box munching can be noisy so you may want to keep this out of a bedroom or you may be kept up all night.
Overall
Way more styleish then a cardboard box.
Key features
- A cheap hideaway toy that can be recycled
- A nice big toy that you can get delivered

2Plasic ball with bell
Plasic ball with bellic balls especially those with a bell in are a great toy if you rabbit likes rolling or chasing toys across a room. These toys are great for bunnies as they can be picked up and tossed around making noise at the same time. Be careful to check the ball you select its for rabbits like the Colorful Plastic Pet Ball with Bell as they can also be designed for cats and can be made of soft material that can be chewed and may be harmful. If you have a smaller bread of rabbit make sure its not to big so you bunny can pick it up and toss it about easily.
Our bunnies verdict
These balls tend to get rolled to the edge of the room or under furniture where they will be ignored,. A good game to play to keep your rabbit interested is to place a toilet roll tube on its end and balance the ball on top, then see how long you bunny can last before it feels compelled to knock it over.
Overall
Lots of fun, but it’s best to put these away at night!
Fun: Enjoyable
Cost: Affordable
Mess: No mess!

If your rabbit likes to reach up and chew things, then toys that you can hang chewables on so they dangle down can be a source of endless fun especially If you add some vegetables or fruit on them as well. They can be great to hang on a cage side to use as a distraction if your bunny is chewing its cage for attention. Be careful to check the toy is a Hanging treat toy and not for parrots which look similar.
Our bunnies verdict
Our rabbit likes making noise so we hung one of these that had a bell on it next to his food bowl, he soon got the hang of ringing it persistently when he ran out of food which was very cute.

4Wooden dumb bells
Solid wooden toys are a cheap and fun toy for your bunny to fling about and chew on, their strong point is how long they will last so are great forleaving out in a room. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes however the best sort to look out for are Wooden dumb bells that have some stick shapes build into them so they can be easily held in the mouth and tossed about like the rather than simple wooden blocks. They are a great alternative to help distract your rabbit from chewing on other wooden things like your furniture legs and baseboards. It's best to get a few different sorts, put some aside and swap them over occasionally to stop them being overlooked. We have had some rabbits that have been fanatical chewers and these toys are helpful to leave out in areas where they have made it a mission to chew at the soft wood. They also worked well as an addition to our bunnies digging box.
Our bunnies verdict

They are hard wearing and easy to clean.
Our bunnies verdict

Toilet roll tubesToilet roll tubes are a free and plentiful toy that are a great way to keep your bunny busy. They will enjoy chewing at the course cardboard and tossing them about. You can also make them even more fun by filling them with hay which is a great way of getting your bunny some essential fiber and give them an alternative to seeking this out by chewing your carpet, wallpaper and wooden furniture.
Our bunnies verdict
We never throw an old toilet roll away, we just chuck them in out bunnies path when the roll is used up. He gets bored of them pretty quickly so when they start looking tired we just bin them. 7Plastic treat puzzle toy
Plastic treat puzzle toy are great for clever bunnies. These plastic toys typically contain pegs that can be pulled out or slid in a groove to reveal hidden goodies. Your bunny may be confused at first, but they will soon learn that a bit of effort pays of with a tasty treat.
Our bunnies verdict
We have used these toys with a lot our bunnies all with different results. Some have liked playing with them and would go to work as soon as they were loaded up however other bunnies we have had have mostly got ignored them. We tried it on out on our Continental Giant, he simply smashed it on the floor until all the treats fell out so we had to take it away from him much to his disappointment! The plastic can get noisy so given the choice a more natural wooden peg toy would be a better buy.
Overall

Toys that you can hide food inside always provide great entertainment for bunnies. They soon get the idea that by nudging the toy around they get a steady supply of treats. If you get a Treat ball which is designed specifically to bunnies it has an adjustable hole in the top so you can limit how quickly you want the treats to come out which can be useful depending on their size.
Our bunnies verdict
This toy is great for when we are a bit busy and our bunny starts being naughty by pulling things off our coffee table or raiding us on the couch. All we have to do is give it a rattle and he comes running then he will be off using up energy chasing the ball around till he poops himself out and lays down. It's also a good way of making the treats last a bit longer.
Overall
Guaranteed to keep your bunny busy and out of trouble and a good way of making them more active.

93 way collapsible tunnel
From 16.00
Buy it on Amazon
If your rabbit likes exploring then they will love a 3 way collapsible tunnel that has three or even four tunnels that join in the middle. Although they are larger than regular activity tunnels you can still pack them away neatly so you can store them away when not needed. They can be a bit narrower then a simple straight tunnel so if you have a larger bread it best to get a largest size.
Our bunnies verdict
We leave one of these out pretty much permanently as our bunny seems to be more comfortable with the shelter it offers in the room. He like the rustle noise it makes and spends more time jumping over and on it then running through it which is still good. It has a peep hole in the center so we make this more fun sometimes by popping some treats inside.
Overall
These tunnels transform a room for your bunny to play in and can be neatly packed away when not needed.

About this guide
Bunnies do like to be noisy on occasion and we know how important it is to provide them with lots of toys to tear up, toss about and bash on things to keep them healthy and happy. Enriching areas they play in with these toys lets them exercise this natural desire to express themselves and is also a great way to distract them from other unwelcome noisy activities that can lead to chewing damage such as chewing on cage doors or skirting boards to get attention.
We created this review because we understand how hard it can be to get this choice right. Every rabbit is different and there is a wide range of toys that can be noisy available so choosing the best one can be confusing.
From simple wooden rattles your rabbit may lose interest pretty quickly to balls with bells in them that can rapidly become very annoying especially at night.
In this guide we review the most popular types of noisy toys and discuss their good and bad points as well as suggest some toys that can be noisier than you would first think.
We focus on the toys benefits to your bunnies health and happy
We understand how important it is to give your bunny lots of interesting toys to smash about and make noise with to help express themselves. Making noise is also a social activity you can share with your bunny, for instance stacking up some plastic cups for your bunny to knock down or a ball with a bell in it you can present to them to toss away.
In our reviews put the benefits each toy has to your bunnies wellbeing first. We let you know what to expect from each toy as well as possible hazards they may cause. We would not review toys that are glued together or constructed from materials we consider harmful.
We show you the rabbit proofing benefits of how these toys help stop destructive behaviour
In this guide we also show you the many ways each toy can be helpful in rabbit proofing your home, this is after all what we specialise in.
Rabbits when they want attention will find ways of making noise in your home. This can unfortunately lead to unwanted chewing on the door frames and bottoms of doors that may be closed to them. It can also lead to persistent chewing of cage doors and doors to enclosures. Many of these toys can act as a distraction to this behaviour by providing a safe and acceptable alternative.
In this guide we match the rabbit proofing problem with the toy so you can make sure you are providing a best alternative and avoid expensive repairs to your home.
How we tested each rabbit toy
We have tested out all of these toys with our bunnies at home and share their reactions and tell you how these toys performed not just on the day but in the long term. We have been house rabbit parents for over 20 years and understand how different rabbit behave differently with each toy.
We know every rabbit has its own personality so we have also gathered lots of anecdotal evidence from our rabbit proofing community on Facebook which at the time of this guide has over 50K members. This has helped us to learn what toys are a favourite and what toys can have unexpected issues.
How we rated them for Value for money, Fun Mess and Noise
To help you compare each toy we have given them a rating on three criteria, Value for money, fun and mess.
Value for money - How expensive they are compared to how long they will last
Fun - How much time your rabbit will spend with the toy compared to its other toysn
Mess - How much mess may spread about and how hard it is to clean up
Noise - How much of a nuisance this toy may become especially if left out during the night
We are independent and are not running a business
We created these reviews to provide other rabbit owners with help and advice. We are not associated with any other companies or organisations. We would not review a product for any reason other than we feel it is a suitable choice based on our own experience and the experience of the members of our bunny proofing facebook group.
