Willow bridge rabbit toy

You can bend this wooden toy into a variety of shape and its easy to make it into hideaway by bending into a bridge shape. Its very tough so can be left out permanently for your bunny to shelter under and climb on. If you are getting one on-line check its big enough as they do make them for smaller critters. Our rabbits like the ones that still have the bark on them like the Trixie Willow Bridge 65 40 cmTrixie Flexible Wooden Bridge and Tunnel for Guinea Pigs and Chinchillas as they enjoy chewing it off. We always have a few of these about as they are heavy enough to be placed over carpet that is being tugged up or rested up against base boards and door frames to stop them being chewed. They are also good for wrapping around table legs to add some bunny proofing protection.

Our verdict

Easy to bend into a variety of hideaways.

Although they are quite large like regular activity tunnels you can pack them away neatly so you can pack them away when not needed. We like the type with peep holes in the side and center so we can see what our bunnyies up to an pop the odd treat in to make it even more fun.

Twig Tunnel3

3.5/5
Wicker hideaway rabbit chew toy

These attractive hideaways are not only great fun for playing in and the soft twigs are also good for chewing so this toy is guaranteed to be a favorite. Make sure you buy one from a pet store like this Ware Large Twig Tunnel rather then using home decoration which often come treated with varnish or flame resistant chemicals. The only draw backs is they can be a bit expensive and if your bunnys like ours and likes to chew then it probably wont last very long and leave some mess. However our bunny absolutely love it so we pick a new one up every so often.

Our verdict

A fun toy for smaller breads to chew and play in.

Cardboard Castles4

Cardboard castle rabbit chew toy

If you had to choose between all the items here that will keep your bunny out of trouble for the longest, then cardboard castles are perfect. Your rabbit can spend hours customising them and the additional shelter they provide in a room will help you bunny feel more secure and happy. Make sure they are suitable for rabbits and don’t have too much print on them such as the SmartKitz Cardboard Pet Castle, Small, 23 x 23 x32 cmEnvirosmart Smartkitz Cardboard Pet Castle And Bailey (One Size) (Brown). We have had some rabbits that have become attached to their cardboard dens and when they eventually fall apparent have become upset with us, at least until a new one is provided.

Snuggle tunnel5

3/5
Snuggle tunnel rabbit toy

As the name suggests snuggle tunnels are a combination of a pet bed and a tunnel. They have soft padded sides and base which would keep your rabbit insulated from a cold floor. The base is more stable then a thinner cloth tunnel so more comfortable for your bunny to nest in. Always check that it’s not designed for cats and is suitable for bunnies like the . These toys are often quite small so may be better for smaller breads. They are also machine washable which is great as areas where bunnies nest in can get a bit messy over time.

Our verdict

The perfect toy for playing in and nesting.

Chew tube6

Chew tube rabbit toy

Most pet shops stock cardboard tubes like the Rosewood giant chew tubeKaytee Large Chewbular Play Tube as they are relatively inexpensive and often come in attractive colours and designs. You can leave them out for your rabbit to play in and nibble on and throw them away when they get worn. You can get tubes with filling but his may not be the freshest so it may be best to stuff them with some hay yourself. It It didn’t take long for out rabbit rabbit to start stripping the layers of paper of which did leave some mess however they are really tough so it still lasted a long time. We preferred this simple type to the ones you can buy with coating of Hay or Alfalfa as they don’t prove to be much more attractive and made a lot more mess.

Our verdict

Cheap & simple, cardboard tubes let your rabbit burrow and chew.

Fun tunnel7

2.5/5
Flexible tunnel rabbit toy

These corrugated plastic tubes are tough and can be stretched out and bent into lots of interesting shapes and when you have finished with them they can be collapsed down neatly and easily packed away. They make a good additional toy to bring out into an area or can be left out pertinently with out worry as they are unlikely to be chewed. That also make great outside toys as the plastic material is water proof. They come in a variety of bright colours such as green or purple like this

We found because they are quite light they to tend to slide around quite a bit especial on a hard surface and can make quite a lot of noise. You can also get connectors for them and build a warren.

Our verdict

Easy to bend into a variety of hideaways.

Grassy tunnel9

1.5/5
Grassy tunnel rabbit toy

Grassy tunnels are perfect for playing in and chewing. The soft edible material is much more nutritious if digested then cardboard tubes and the naturally woven materials doesn’t contain any glues or dies. That are often for smaller critters so its best to check it large enough for a rabbit like the Naturals Small Animal Activity Woven Jumbo Play TunnelRosewood Naturals Woven Jumbo Rabbit Play Tunnel or it may end up an expensive chew toy. The main drawbacks we found with this sort of toy was it did get a bit messy and the grass ended up being walked about. If you want to give your rabbit a treat and don’t mind the mess then this is the great natural toy.

Our verdict

Rabbit love these but it may not last long if it becomes a favorite chew.

Hay coated chew tube10

1/5
Coated chew tube rabbit toy

These cardboard tubes are the same as a normal chew tube except they come with a thin coating of an additional material such as Alfalfa or Hay. We found they did make quite a bit of mess as the coating break off easily and it did ware thin pretty quickly mainly when it rolled around so was not much better then a regular chew tube. We also discovered they where impossible to clean if they get soiled which was a problem as we had a young rabbit at the time who would have the odd accident. It didn’t seem to make much difference to out rabbits have their own tastes and if you want a tube that doesn’t come covered in heavy print then they are relativity cheap.

Our verdict

More fun then a simple tube but can leave a little bit of mess.
